Strengthening Osteopathic Leadership and Research – An International Leadership Capacity Building Project for Research in Osteopathy.

The generous funding received from Osteopathy Australia
(Aus), Osteopathic Foundation (UK), Osteopaths New
Zealand (NZ), Unite Pour l’Osteopathie (Fr), and Svenska
Osteopatförbundet (Sw) permits annual one-week
residentials for 15 international Fellows.

Our Vision

We are a group of researchers across the globe with a vision to enhance and facilitate evidence based osteopathy. Some of our aims include:

Help identify and nurture a critical mass of early/mid-career emerging osteopathy research leaders

Instill and grow confidence and trust and cement research collaborations and networks amongst these Fellows.

Facilitate and encourage multi-disciplinary, multi-method, multi-sector research approaches and designs for osteopathy which draw upon a rich, broad platform of perspectives and skills from within and beyond osteopathy.

Provide explicit research and leadership mentorship, training and support to help each SOLAR Fellow secure their career development and strengthen their research and leadership activities and skills.

Enable SOLAR Fellows the opportunity for essential ‘time out’ from everyday pressures and demands to accommodate reflection and sharing and encourage ‘big picture’ strategic thinking.

Help produce a prolific range of tangible research outputs, products and communications (for a range of audiences both internal and external to osteopathy).
